It was August of 2021. We met during Avery’s sophomore year and Connor's junior year. Avery was in her second year of the PTA (Physical Therapist Assistant) Program at Penn State Mont Alto and Connor had just graduated from the program. Connor was still in school to finish his bachelor's before going on to graduate school for physical therapy. Connor helped Avery get through the program and graduate in 2022. As Connor helped Avery’s class, we chatted some, but it wasn't until January of 2023 when we really started hanging out since we actually had classes together. Next thing you know, April 7th of 2023 rolled around, and we started dating!

It was a Saturday in the middle of soccer season, so Avery woke up and prepared for her soccer game, the same as any other Saturday in soccer season. As Avery was warming up and as the game started, she saw a huge crowd around her family. Avery’s family and Connor’s family always came to games, but it was different this time. His college friends, his grandparents, her siblings, her grandmother. So many loved ones that aren’t usually at games. Avery walked up to greet them after the win, hugged her grandmother, and turned to see Connor on one knee. He asked and of course Avery said yes.
