FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We'd love for you to dress in spring cocktail attire. Think tea-length to maxi dresses, long jumpsuits, and suits with or without ties in any color—and we especially encourage bright spring hues to match the celebratory spirit of the day! Please avoid dresses in shades of white. The ceremony and reception will be outdoors, and a light shawl may be helpful after dark. Let us know if there are any questions!

Question

How should I RSVP?

Answer

We will open RSVPs when we send out formal invitations in December!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We're thrilled to celebrate with the people closest to our hearts! To keep our celebration intimate and within our venue's capacity, we can only welcome guests who are specifically named on the invitation. If someone named on your invitation is unable to attend, we ask that you do not arrange a replacement guest. Please reach out if you have any questions!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We're hosting an adults-only evening (18+) and respectfully ask that children not attend. This way, all our guests can enjoy an open bar and dance floor in a relaxed, grown-up atmosphere!

Question

How should we address the newlyweds?

Answer

As great as Colton Edwards sounds, neither Colton nor Avery will be changing their last names. All correspondence and gifts can be made out to Avery Edwards and Colton McAllister!

Question

Do you have a wedding registry?

Answer

Yes, we have a wedding registry! You can find all the details on the Registry page of our website!

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that guests refrain from taking photos during the ceremony—our officiant will remind everyone at the start. We've hired professional photographers to capture every precious moment, allowing us to be fully present and savor the day. We can't wait to share their beautiful photos with you once we receive them!

Question

Can I park overnight at the venue?

Answer

Yes! The Museum of Life and Science has so graciously allowed everyone to leave any vehicles in their parking lot overnight if you can't safely drive home. Please pick up your vehicle the next morning and make safe decisions!

Question

Will the wedding be outside?

Answer

Weather permitting, the ceremony and reception will be outdoors. The ceremony will be on a grassy area with the reception and cocktail hour on a paved area.

Question

Is there a hotel block?

Answer

We are currently setting up a hotel block at a local hotel in Durham. We will add the details to the travel tab when they are finalized!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Official arrival time will be on the formal invitation and we will update it here closer to the date!
