Avery and Mason first met in high school when Avery had a crush on Mason. Avery was not bold enough to strike up more than casual conversation or looks of affection here and there. Mason did not get the hint either. Their story instead begins four years later at a gathering of friends. Avery, more bold, and Mason, maybe a little more self aware, met and dates began. After a few months of dates and driving back and forth from Kalamazoo to Grand Rapids, a relationship began.

5 years later Mason finally proposed! After completing college, getting a job, and moving two states away: Mason was finally ready to propose. On a backpacking tip to Isle Royale National Park, they hiked while Mason looked for the perfect view. 15 cold moose infested miles later, Mason finally spotted the perfect view overlooking the island and the water. He proposed here, and she said YES!
