Connor and Averey met the old fashioned way… random social media connections. And in 2024, Connor followed Averey on Instagram and after multiple drafts, consultations with friends, and roughly two months of courage-building, he finally sent a message complimenting her smile (of course the dentist noticed teeth) and asking if she might want to grab drinks. Normally, Averey’s policy was simple: no stranger followers. But months of preparation, a solid opening line, and a very convincing smile made a compelling case. So she said yes and few days later, they met for their first date at Red Rooster. What Averey didn’t know was that Connor was already telling friends he had just met his future wife. Averey, meanwhile, was still processing the fact that a man had spent that long preparing a DM. The next year filled up fast. They cheered on the Thunder through an entire NBA Finals run, traveled halfway across the world to Africa, hiked in Scottsdale, relaxed in St. Lucia and took on five different family Christmases (which is not for the faint of heart).
