The best way to reach the Outer Banks is by driving. For most of our guests, driving will be the most convenient and flexible option—and it’s what we recommend! If you are flying in, the closest major airport is Norfolk International Airport (ORF) in Norfolk, VA. It’s approximately a 1.5-hour drive from the airport to the Outer Banks, depending on your final destination and traffic. We suggest arranging for a rental car or coordinating with fellow travelers if flying into ORF. Please keep in mind that our wedding falls over Memorial Day Weekend, which is a busy travel period. We encourage guests to plan accordingly and consider booking accommodations and car rentals early.

The hotel is just 0.5 miles from our wedding venue, which is about a 2-minute drive or a 10-minute walk, making it an easy and accessible place to stay for the weekend. The Outer Banks is known for its charming coastal vibe, wide beaches, and laid-back atmosphere—perfect for a long holiday weekend. You'll be close to restaurants, beach bars, historic sites like the Wright Brothers Memorial, and plenty of outdoor activities if you’re planning to extend your trip. The Ramada Plaza offers direct beach access, a sun deck, indoor pool and hot tub, on-site dining, and oceanview rooms—ideal for relaxing between events or enjoying a quiet morning by the water. Space is limited, so we encourage you to book early to secure your spot in the hotel block. It’s a busy time due to Memorial Day Weekend, and rooms in the area fill up quickly!
