Our story may be different from what some may expect, because the story starts before we met. In 2018, we decided to transfer out of the universities we originally chose to attend—Jason left The University of West Georgia and Ava left Georgia State University—to begin attending The University of Georgia. Once our decisions were made, the hunt to find our new homes in Athens, GA began. After scouring what felt like an endless list of apartments, we both, coincidentally, chose to live at The Reserve in Athens and take the bus to our classes. The spring semester began shortly after that and on the first Tuesday, we caught each other's eyes as we were standing at the bus stop, waiting for the ride to our dreaded 8AM classes. We even realized that we had a class together later that afternoon. Neither of us had the courage to initiate a conversation then, but every Tuesday and Thursday, we'd see each other. Fast forward to one random night in November of 2018—when we found each other on a dating app. In that moment, we immediately recognized one another and it was a match! We tried to play it cool once we began chatting, but we still remembered each other from the semester before. It took a couple of days for the truth to come out, but once it did, we were inseparable ever since. We spent every day together—studying in the University of Georgia's Business Learning Center, playing soccer at the intramural fields, or going out for dinner. After graduating in 2020, we signed the lease for our first apartment and began our life together.
