We met for the first time at a Chi Omega & Sig Ep exchange pre-game lol! The boys threw the entire pregame at their house so that Jacques & I could finally meet! We had lots of mutual friends but it wasn't until this day that we met for the first time. We instantly clicked and spent the whole night talking which led him to ask me to his fraternity event & the rest is history! COVID put a bump in the start of our relationship, but by June of 2020 we were dating :)

Our proposal story starts with Jacques convincing me that we were going to a nice dinner at the steakhouse in Marksville for his Aunt Mandy's birthday. We are headed there when Mr. Cory calls due to a "forgotten wallet" at their camp that we must detour to pick up. Lucky for Jacques the camp had just been redone and I wanted to see it all so as soon as we walked in I gave myself a tour while he stashed the hidden ring in his pocket. He tells me he found it and we should see the new dock before we leave. We were walking down to the dock when he grabbed my arm and said he needed to ask me something. Next thing I know he was down on one knee. Although I was so surprised and kept asking him "are you serious?" I eventually came back down to earth and said "YES," and we were engaged! The camp will always hold a special place in our hearts after this day & it could not have been a more perfect moment for both of us! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Lafayette!
