Daniel and I met in Edmonton while getting frozen yogurt at the Northgate Mall. I was with my friend Rachel, and Daniel was by himself. I noticed him and thought he was super cute, but didn't plan on meeting him. I was getting myself frozen yogurt when he came up and introduced himself to me. We chatted for a bit and he asked for my number. I thought "This guy must be a player to be this bold", so I declined and went back to sitting with Rachel. Before we left, Rachel convinced me that I should take a chance, and give him my number. While we were walking out, I stopped and gave him my number and he texted me right away. I didn't know what we were in the beginning, or how special Daniel would end up being to me. I'm grateful every day that he came up to talk to me, and that I took a chance on the cute boy in the frozen yogurt shop.
It was the weekend of our 4th anniversary. I had suspicions that Daniel was planning to propose that weekend (Mostly because I had been pestering him SO much for the past 2 years, and knew he had already bought the ring). When Friday night passed and he didn't propose, I thought "Ok, he must be doing it tomorrow at dinner". All of Saturday, I tried to ring check his pockets and was on edge. When it came to be time for dinner, I was shaking I was so excited. We went to Chop Steakhouse and got a great meal and free dessert for our anniversary. When the cheque came and he still hadn't proposed, I teared up and said "If you weren't going to do it this weekend, you could have just told me so I wouldn't have gotten my hopes up". Daniel looked at me (probably exhausted honestly from my pestering) and said "Will you just wait woman". We got back to our hotel, and I grabbed my pajamas and started walking to the bathroom to change, when Daniel grabbed both my hands and pulled me over to the window. He got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. I was too busy happy crying to even realize he had pulled out a ring. I cried YES! , then immediately asked if I could call my mom. We told our immediate family, and waited until the following evening to announce the engagement, so we could enjoy the moment alone together. We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you!
