It's a love story, baby I said yes!!

Ava and Caleb’s story began in Madison, where a group of young missionaries gathered for training before being sent out across the country. Ava was a bubbly, witty eighteen-year-old who loved anything colorful, chaotic, and adventurous. She had a loud laugh, a vibrant personality, and a way of making even ordinary moments feel exciting. Beneath all of her energy, though, was a deep love for God and for people. Alongside four teammates, Ava and Caleb were sent to Kansas City for twelve weeks to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and host mission trips for youth groups. At first, Ava could hardly stand Caleb. He annoyed her constantly, and to her, he was just a weird homeschooled guy with awkward jokes and endless opinions. She never imagined he would become one of the most important people in her life. But long nine-hour car rides have a way of changing people. Somewhere between ministry, late-night conversations, laughter, and countless miles on the road, irritation slowly turned into friendship. Friendship eventually became love, and before long, they both realized they wanted more than just friendship. Their relationship was far from perfect. Navigating young love while living and serving alongside teammates created tension at times, and although they tried their best to keep peace within the group, they did not always handle everything perfectly. Still, through every challenge, they continued choosing each other. By the end of the summer, Caleb proposed. on Caleb’s twenty-first birthday, they began the process of legally finalizing their marriage, though it took nearly two months for all the paperwork to go through. But marriage did not begin the way either of them had imagined. Living with Caleb’s parents brought stress and pressure, while Ava’s health continued to decline. Arguments became constant, hurt feelings grew deeper, and eventually both of them reached a place where they no longer believed they wanted to stay married. So they separated. Then they filed for divorce. For a while, it seemed like their story was over almost as quickly as it had begun. The love that once grew during summer road trips and ministry became buried beneath heartbreak, exhaustion, and disappointment. But God was not finished writing their story. Through painful and unexpected circumstances, God slowly softened both of their hearts and reminded them that their marriage was not beyond redemption. What looked hopeless to them was never hopeless to Him. Then, on March 25th, while Ava was at work, Caleb stood before the Florida Court System and testified that their marriage was not irreparably broken and that they would not be moving forward with the divorce. In a single moment, everything changed. Their story became one of grace, redemption, and second chances — proof that God can work through even the messiest circumstances and still create something beautiful in the end.
