HOW WE MET

It was February 18th, 2013 when Paul walked into the NFP group meeting in the conference room at Marks Paneth, LLP. He took a seat directly behind me and in that instant, we apparently both shared the same feeling; attraction. As the weeks went on, a friendship grew and before we knew it, we were spending a lot of time together. Whether we were meeting up at the office to work late or working together at Paul’s apartment in NYC. The friendship lasted for a very long (per Paul) two and a half years before I finally gave in to my feelings; All it took was a two week trip to Italy!! I knew my feelings were serious when I was already making plans to see him the day after we arrived home. The Rest Is History

THE PROPOSAL

It was Memorial day weekend and we were packing up to head to Syracuse for a long weekend getaway. It had been a while since we had taken a trip and I had high hopes that this weekend would be special. After a seven and a half mile hike, in which I was on my best behavior (no complaints about the heat/bugs/pain) we left the beautiful green lakes and headed back to the hotel. Slightly disappointed, I decided I was being silly and let the idea go. The next day, someone recommended that we stop by Tinker Falls on the way home; a beautiful intimate waterfall. As we made our way up to the top of the waterfall, Paul stopped another couple and asked them to take a photo of us. I was suspicious as Paul is NEVER the one to suggest a picture. The first picture was romantic, a sweet kiss. The next moment changed our lives forever. Paul got down on one knee and despite all of my suspicions and expectations, the tears came quickly without thought. IT WAS HAPPENING. Of course I said YES and we were giddy the entire way home; happily engaged!
