How We Met

November 2008 to February 2015

If you know Josiah and I then you know this has been a long time coming. We are both from Goldsboro, NC born and raised. We were in the same city for 14 years of our lives and had no idea that the other existed. One day at a Rosewood vs Wayne Country Day basketball game a cheerleader met her ball player. Armani Perry is someone very dear to both of us, we both grew up with her in our lives, and she is the reason we ever even met! After a few months of going back and forth through online messaging we decided to "go out" so he became my boyfriend. We were two 14-year-old kids head over heels! We had no idea what we were doing but we tried to make the best of it. As most high school relationships do, ours ended right at the end of our 4 years and we went our separate ways-- hence the title "If You Love Something Let It Go." He went off to Charlotte and I to Greenville. We had a great time during our college years and met some really amazing and important people. We had no idea that God had a bigger plan than we could have ever imagined. Fast forward from 2012 to 2014 we got back in touch around the time our friend Taylor was getting married to Larry (the best guy ever!). We saw each other and we talked a little while we were both in town but nothing came of it until later that year. We started talking to each other all the time and it was like clockwork. We had both changed so much, for the better, and it was so much more than I ever dreamed we could have. We became inseparable and we have been every since! To say hes my best friend would be an understatement.

Our Engagement

February 27, 2020

We went on a trip he planned for us to the great city of New Orleans. It was for our anniversary which is Valentine's Day and for my birthday. I had the time of my life and loved every second. I thought seeing the SuperDome was going to be the best part of the trip but that little sneak had a better idea. We went to dinner for my birthday (or so I thought) to this adorable Italian place called The Mona Lisa. We had our salad and a little conversation and then our food came. Before I could get two bites in he started telling me how happy he is and that he has loved me since he was 14. He's always very sweet to me so at first I didn't think anything of it but I very quickly realized what he was doing and started crying! The love of my life and my best friend asked me to be his wife. I've never felt such happiness through tears before. I obviously said yes and the sweetest couple in the world at the next table took pictures and a video for us to always remember our moment. He's always been my person and I his. If you would have told me when I was 14 that I was going to marry Josiah Davis, I would've been 100% on board but I would never have imagined it this perfectly. I couldn't be more grateful for the way God planned this life, it is no doubt much better than I could have planned (as per usual)!
