We were over 100 miles apart when we both signed up for a dating site and set our search area to no more than 50 miles away. Both had some dates, but nothing that seemed like a good match. Then John came across my profile and asked me what my favorite scary movie was. Seeing that he had actually read and not just looked at pictures I wrote back. A week or so later we exchanged numbers and realized we were in different states! But by then we were interested and continued talking. In mid September after many conversations and right after Irma rolled through John made the trip to Flovilla. A zoo trip and the first IT! movie made up the first date and the next day he helped us clean up from the hurricaine’s damage before heading back. On the phone that night I asked what I needed to do to keep him around. The rest, as they say, is history. Two years, three major surgeries, a road trip to Texas and too many laughs to count later we found ourselves in the wax museum in Pigeon Forge, TN for my birthday. I turned around from looking at Audrey Hepburn and John was on one knee behind me. I cried, said I hated him and said yes! Well. I nodded. I was crying too hard to speak. So now we’re planning a ghastly gala next fall, and can’t wait to see everyone!
