We met the summer before our junior year of college at Central Michigan University, more specifically at our summer jobs where we worked as building maintenance workers. I (Autumn) had worked at Northwest Apartments for 6 years while Eric was a new summer hire. Despite working in completely separate crews, Eric would often leave his own crew to come work with my crew. We quickly became friends and talked all summer long, but it wasn't until September that Eric asked me to be his girlfriend. Our relationship grew as we both graduated from CMU and we moved to Ohio. We depended on each other more than ever as we navigated living a state away from both of our family and friends. Late in the summer of 2019 we drove up to Glen Arbor for our friends' wedding and decided to stop at Sleeping Bear Dunes to see the beautiful views. While we were standing atop a sand dune overlooking Lake Michigan, Eric got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. On October 16 2021 we will exchange vows in front of our family and friends.
