The first look: October 2017. Jez attends an in-service at work, the door opens and Gabby walks in to drop off paperwork. Jez turns his head and he notices the most beautiful girl walk in the room. Jez didn't have the courage to speak up so a coworker asked “who was that?”, which someone replied, “that’s Gabby, she’s a new nurse that works here.” Jez couldn't control the look on his face, he was infatuated. Unfortunately for Jez, Gabby did not even notice Jez's jaw on the floor, sitting in the corner. The first interaction: Several weeks later Gabby was assigned to work on the same unit as Jez. Jez was working the PM shift and Gabby worked the AM shift. It was 7 AM and Gabby was supposed to start at 6:30 AM, Oh no, Gabby was running late. Jez patiently waited to give report to Gabby but she was no where to be found. When all hope was lost, Gabby kicked the front door down and frantically rushed to the unit. Gabby approached the med cart and Jez jokingly says “kinda late yeah.” Gabby immediately apologizes and they both laugh it off. Jez knew this was his one chance to make an impression on Gabby, so he nervously cracked a few jokes and surprisingly Gabby laughed. In that moment, Jez knew that Gabby was someone special because she laughed at his jokes, no one laughs at Jez’s jokes because he is not funny, maybe funny looking, but not funny. They parted ways. Jez went home feeling ecstatic knowing he finally got to speak to his crush, but Gabby was pissed because Jez handed off so much more work for her to do on her shift. The first add: Several months went by and Jez just could not get Gabby out of his head. He felt so happy about how their first interaction ended, so he decided to be a creeper and search her up on Facebook. As he scrolled through her profile Jez noticed she was unavailable at the time, Even though he was disappointed, Jez still decided to submit a friend request. Surprisingly Gabby accepted his friend request. *It would be a year later until their next interaction* The first date: On a random night, Jez gets an invite to a party. Gabby also attended that same party and they reconnected, they both enjoyed small talk and short interactions together. Since that party, Jez was invited to more group events with Gabby. Slowly but surely Jez’s charm was taking effect on Gabby. The short interactions in group settings turned into conversations that made it out the group chat. Jez finally had the courage to ask Gabby out on a date, so he shot his shot and asked her to the most spectacular restaurant he could think of at the time, Gyukaku. Jez arrived early and waited for Gabby. Jez was shaking in his boots. Nervously, Jez greeted Gabby, like a child would with their crush, by making trouble and teasing her (Jez literally got no game whatsoever lol). But in Gabby’s kind manner, she laughed at his unfunny joke anyway. The date went very well. They talked, they laughed, the conversation was flowing, and the tea was spilling (Marites would be proud). The first kiss: Jez, Gabby and a few friends went to dinner at Ichiriki for a group outing. Jez and Gabby parted ways with their friends, but Jez and Gabby decided to hang out a bit longer. In the midst of their conversation Jez was captivated by Gabby and couldn’t help but notice the beauty in her face, the softness in her voice and the mole under her right eye. So Jez decided to take a chance and make a move, he leaned in closer to give gabby a kiss. As Jez got closer, Gabby turned her head to swerve Jez's face and gave Jez a hug instead, then whispered in his ear “thanks for dinner bro, dinner on you again?.” It was that very moment that brought them even closer together. Since that special moment, Gabby and Jez has been inseparable and has shared almost 6 years together. In the course of their relationship they've changed jobs to advanced their careers, purchased their first home together, and got engaged. And on March 1, 2025 they will tie the knot!
