They met online right when Trae was going to give up on online dating. They had "matched" on an app called Hinge, but Trae was still living in Salt Lake City at the time so they almost never met at all. Trae had only downloaded the app because she was living in a new city. Boy is it lucky that she ended up going on the ONE match that was made in Seattle. Finally they made plans to meet in person. Auston chose the spot, a restaurant in Issaquah. Trae thought people only go to Issaquah to go hiking, so it would be a nice and safe location away from the many people she may run into from her times at the restaurant in Renton. Trae insisted on driving herself and of course... got lost. Auston nearly gave up on her but luckily at the last moment Trae jumped out from around the corner with her radiant smile and said "There you are!" Auston was cute with his long curly hair and a black leather jacket. They sat at a table and to Trae's horror... her Ex was the server. He ran up and gave her a hug "How's mom!?" he asked. AWKWARD!!! Trae thought the date was doomed. We had stayed for a bit and then Trae said "Well you already met my ex... why don't we go hangout in Renton." We went bar hopping and Auston met many of Trae's old coworkers and friends. Not your average 1st date experience. We had a blast, played arcade games, went from place to place. At the end of the night Auston was already asking Trae on another date. He wanted to meet for breakfast the very next day. Trae wasn't sure if that was crazy or sweet but decided to say yes. They went to the Whistle Stop Ale House and after that date Auston asked if she could hangout tomorrow! The dream, a guy obsessed with the girl. They have been inseparable ever since, traveling the world and supporting each other through all the ups and downs of life.
