Thank You Tinder
Austin & Taylor matched on Tinder in the Fall of 2013 while Austin was visiting friends at Virginia Tech. They didn’t meet on campus that weekend but remained connected and met in Richmond, Virginia twice during Taylor’s winter break. It was the beginning of a beautiful love story.
A Long Intermission
Although Austin & Taylor enjoyed spending time with each other, they were at different places in their lives. Austin was establishing his career and Taylor was finishing her time at Virginia Tech. They lost contact but remained “friends” on social media for the next 11 years.
Better Late Than Never
Austin traveled to Atlanta for work and remembered that Taylor lived in the city. He sent her a DM on Instagram asking her to dinner. He didn’t know it then, but that DM would be the most important message of his life. After an intense conversation of Austin spilling his heart out for 45 minutes straight, Austin and Taylor realized the chemistry, energy, and compatibility between them was too strong to let go. Austin didn’t wait long to ask Taylor to be his girlfriend and that kicked off the next exciting phase of their journey.
Back Like We Never Left
The couple was long distance for 10 months while Taylor was in Atlanta and Austin in Northern VA. Committed to growing their relationship over FaceTime, texts and voice messages, and a consistent visitation schedule, they grew their love. Despite living 500 miles apart, Austin & Taylor saw each other nearly every 3 weeks.
Virginia Is For Lovers
In September 2024 Austin & Taylor accomplished their goal – they closed the gap! They moved to Richmond to give their relationship the time and space it needed to grow.
Will You Marry Me?
On June 7, 2025 Austin proposed to Taylor at Sandbridge Beach (to Taylor’s total shock) that cemented an 11 year journey and began a deeper commitment towards marriage.
The Road To "I Do"
Austin and Taylor are living together, joined a Church community (where we will be getting married), and have intentionally grown as individuals and together to prepare for the path God has called them to. Austin & Taylor are proud dog parents to their mini-dachshund, Cocoa.
