Matt and Sophia met while working together at Golfland Sunsplash (is there a better place to fall in love than a water park?). Their flirtatious friendship turned into a relationship when Sophia threw a small party that got out of hand. Matt and Sophia spent the evening cleaning up puddles of vomit and taking care of their drunk friends. Something about this night inspired Matt to confess his feelings for Sophia, who had secretly had a crush on him all summer. Now, ten years later, Matt and Sophia have been side by side through the highs and lows of life. The early years of their relationship were spent visiting one another, with Matt visiting Sophia at UC Davis some weekends, and Sophia visiting Matt at CSU Chico on others. When Sophia Studied abroad in France, Matt supported from afar and visited for 10 days so they could spend time traveling through Europe together. The following year, Matt and Sophia moved to Sioux Falls, SD so Matt could go to nursing school. After moving back to CA for a few years, Matt and Sophia moved to Memphis, TN so Sophia could go to nursing school. Now, the two live in the greater Sacramento area and both work as nurses. Matt and Sophia are excited to start this next phase of their lives, and are joyous to celebrate the occasion with family and friends.
