Back in September of 2022, Austin had been living in Philly for about 2 years, and Katie had just moved back to the suburbs after completing PT school in Pittsburgh. They both decided to take a chance and download Bumble, a dating app, in which the girl has to message first. Austin enlisted the help of his sister Haley and friend Ashleigh to create his dating profile. Austin put his location as Philly since he lived in the city, and Katie also put down her location as Philly so she could avoid the men of Delco (if you know, you know). They both swiped right on September 18th and Katie messaged the simple, "Hey👋, how's it going?” They spent a little over a week of messaging back and forth before they decided to make an official first date on September 28th at Heritage, a restaurant in NoLibs. A few months later after multiple dates, they decided to make it official! About 3 years later, Austin proposed to Katie on Valentine's Day (his 29th birthday!) at their home in Philly with their pup Indie. Katie was Austin's first and only Bumble match❤️
