Austin Ever After

Leading up to their first date, Jasmine and Wayne started communicating more often since Wayne became the new leader of the Media ministry at their church. Text messages about the ministry would lead into other life conversations. A comment on an Instagram post led the soon-to-be-couple to send funny direct messages to each other about the foolish Sixers and more. As time went on, the conversations became deeper and longer. On Thursday, February 20, 2020, Wayne and Jasmine messaged all night long. They didn't say it in the moment, but they both felt something special that night.

The next day, on Friday, February 21st, Wayne bought them tickets to the Sixers game, but he didn't tell Jasmine about the surpise until Saturday, February 22nd. They saw each other when their church hosted a Valentine's Day event where Wayne appeared as a special guitar worship guest (with a fresh haircut, Jasmine would like to add). Jasmine felt butterflies that day. Afterwards, Wayne pulled Jasmine aside to ask her three questions: 1. "Are you free Monday?" 2. "Will you go out with me?" 3. Jokingly he says "I don't really have a 3rd question, but here's where we're going" and shows Jasmine the Sixers tickets on his phone. He didn't have a third question at the time.. but 2 years later, it would be "Will you marry me?" Jasmine and Wayne had their first date at a Sixers game on February 24th, 2020. He shoots, he scores!

Jasmine spent months planning Wayne's 30 birthday party for all of their friends and family. During the party, Wayne professed his love for Jasmine, and they continue to honor God through their relationship. Essentially, Jasmine planned her own engagement party! Milestone birthday and surprise engagement all-in-one.
