Travis and Austin met in the Fall of 2013 through a mutual friend. The two exchanged numbers and, ironically, Austin refused to text Travis back for at least a month because she was uninterested (LOL). Travis persisted, and just when he was about to give up, the two met in person and Austin thought he was just so adorable! She began texting him daily, and the pair began going on dates. After dating for two months, Travis officially asked Austin to be his girlfriend on January 1, 2014. Both in college, the pair balanced working full time and going to school full time for the next four years. Moving in together in the Spring of 2015, Travis and Austin began to merge their two lives together. Adopting their first fur baby in September of 2015, Travis and Austin welcomed 8-week old Lily, a Pitbull and Doberman mix, into their little family. They eventually graduated together in May of 2017 from Delaware State University. Anxious to welcome a new furbaby to the family, Austin rescued their second "puppy," an 8-year old Pitbull named Jake in July of 2017. As Austin began her career as a teacher in Capital School District, Travis began his career as an FBO Manager at the New Castle County Airport with FlyAdvanced. As the two were getting settled in their careers, they decided to begin looking for a house. After many offers and searching, the two purchased their first home in April of 2019. Just two months later, on July 4, Austin's parents planned a boat ride in Annapolis, Maryland to watch fireworks on the water. Seizing the opportunity, Travis planned with her parents to capture the proposal with photos and videos. As the boat traveled near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Travis asked Austin to take a picture with him at the bow of the boat. As they posed, Travis got down on one knee and asked Austin to spend the rest of her life with him. The two have been happily wedding planning ever since.
