Austin and I both swiped right on each other on bumble where girls message first. I failed to message him in the 24 hours I was given. A week goes by and I’m on tinder and his profile pops up. I want to note that austin is not good with his selfies but there was something about his eyes that really caught me and he looked familiar so I swiped right and it told me he did too. This time austin messaged first. We talked for a couple days. He told me he liked talking on Snapchat more and I preferred text but i would snap him just so I could talk to him. I later found out he doesnt like snapping he just really wanted to see my face. Austin asked me to go out on a date with him the day before his birthday, September 28, 2020. I planned to go on that date, but then I had a big assignment come up and had to cancel. We stopped talking because he said he didn’t want to stay in Kentucky and i knew i had at least 3 more years for school here. On the weekend of the 4th, Austin snapchatted me a video of his sister and Jose and he invited me over. I was already in bed and said no guy was worth me getting up (sassy from the start). He said “well let me take you on a real date then” which many guys dont ask to do. I was shocked that he still wanted to go on a date with me after I cancelled on him. We set up to go on a date Wednesday October 7th at Ramsey’s in Hamburg Lexington. When I saw Austin standing in the parking lot my heart skipped a beat. His smile lit up the evening. That night we spent talking and watching the vice preseidential debate on the patio chairs outside of Ramseys. I have never laughed and smiled more than I did looking into Austin’s eyes. Right then I knew this was different, he was different. That weekend we went to Chicago with his best friend and on October 10th he asked me to be his girlfriend. 6 months later, his family and I went to The Kentucky Castle for brunch where he asked me to marry him. That was the easiest yes I’ve ever said.
