Question

Will there be a wedding ceremony at Gold Hill?

Answer

Great question, and the short answer is no. We have opted to have a small, immediate family-only church ceremony in September, so the reception at Gold Hill will truly be a big party complete with yummy food, delicious drinks, and a twangy live band!

Question

How do I get to Gold Hill? Is there a shuttle service?

Answer

Gold Hill is a tiny, historic mining town about ten miles outside of Boulder. Traveling there takes you back a hundred years and leads you through some of the most beautiful vistas in the Colorado Rockies. Nestled beneath the Continental Divide, The Gold Hill Inn is remote from the city lights and city noise of the 21st Century. The best way up from Boulder is to take Mapleton Ave. out of Boulder heading west approximately six miles, bear left at the fork in the road and continue four miles on the dirt road to Gold Hill. Lickskillet Road is a steep, rough dirt road that is closed in winter. It is extra bumpy and zig-zaggy. (The main drag is not paved, if that gives you an idea.) If you're coming from the north, please route through Boulder unless you know it's open and that your vehicle has adequate clearance. The town of Gold Hill has limited parking so carpool if you can, and please park responsibly in town. There is a parking lot close by, otherwise you can park along the town streets. Please plan for the notorious Colorado mountain traffic (yes, in the winter, too). Without traffic, it is around 50 minutes, and with traffic, it can be closer to an hour and a half. There will be a shuttle that will leave from Colorado Chatauqua's dining hall at 4:30PM and will depart from Gold Hill Inn at 8PM, 9PM, and 10PM.

Question

What the heck is the "Elevated Mountain Casual" dress code?

Answer

For the ladies, think sundresses, jumpsuits, and comfy boots. For the gents, think thicker button-downs (flannels or something with a "western flare"), chinos, dark jeans — no suit required. Comfy and cute dancin' shoes. There will be some boot stompin', and we're not sorry about it. Most of all, we want everyone to be comfortable. Gold Hill Inn is a historic lodge and restaurant with a very rustic feel. There is a charming outdoor courtyard if you need some fresh mountain air. It can drop into the 30s/40s after the sun goes down, so please plan accordingly by bringing additional layers. Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

To help us with our planning, please RSVP to the events as soon as possible. However, the deadline is October 3rd.

Question

Do I get a plus one?

Answer

Our venue is intentionally cozy to create an intimate gathering in honor of our love, so we politely ask for only those listed on the invitation to join us.

Question

How high do you get in Colorado?

Answer

All reefer jokes aside, the altitude here does not mess around, especially for out of town guests. Denver sits at a mile high (5,280 feet) and our venue in Gold Hill is perched on a mountainside above Left Hand Canyon at an elevation of 8,300 feet... This means: DRINK RESPONSIBLY! Please drink a lot of water and remember that at this altitude, one alcoholic drink equals three... Seriously.
