Transportation

We have contracted with a local taxi company to provide rides back from the venue to various hotels/Airbnbs, from 10pm-1am. Please celebrate responsibly, and know that Ubers and Lyfts may be available but are not always a reliable option in Northern Michigan. Cars may be left overnight at the venue, but this should be viewed as a last option, as they must be picked up first thing in the morning because there is another ceremony at noon the following day. Our best recommendation is to plan accordingly to carpool or select a DD, but if anyone is having trouble coordinating, please let us know and consider the taxi for a sober ride!

Charlevoix Draw Bridge

Downtown Charlevoix has a drawbridge connecting the North and South parts of town. When driving to the ceremony, please leave yourself extra time, as the bridge moves frequently and traffic piles up rather quickly. There is increased chance of bridge movement during our wedding weekend due to the Boyne Thunder charity boating event.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Petoskey

We have secured a room block of 10 rooms at a rate of $284/night for two nights, Thursday 7/10 to Saturday 7/12. More rooms can be added as needed, subject to interest. Please use this direct link below to book into our assigned block. If you intend to book here, please do so sooner than later, as they only have a few of each room type assigned to our block. All rooms go back into inventory 60 days prior to the wedding.

Hotels

Most hotels in the area have a 2-night minimum stay. To accommodate this, we'd recommend staying Thursday night to Saturday in order to avoid any time crunch before the 5pm ceremony, as most hotels don't offer check-in until 3pm or 4pm.

Flight

Airports

The closest airports with regular airline service are Grand Rapids (GRR) and Traverse City (TVC). Each has rental car facilities; plan a 3 hour drive from Grand Rapids and a 1 hour drive from Traverse City. For anyone planning to fly into Detroit, it's about a 4 hour drive.

Local Airbnbs or VRBOs

You are welcome to browse the options available for local Airbnbs or VRBOs near the wedding venue! Please note travel time, as there aren't tons of options right in downtown Charlevoix, and it may direct you to places like Petoskey or Boyne which are around 30-40 minutes out of town. Most have a two night minimum, so we would recommend Thursday to Saturday to avoid any time issues before the ceremony. But feel free to stay for the weekend!

Individually owned condos available for rent at a 2-night minimum. These come with a kitchen, and bookings for the 2025 season open on November 1. We have been advised that their cancellation policy is a 20% fee outside of 60 days, and no refund for cancellations within 60 days of the reservation.
