Things To Do

Although majority of our guests live in Virginia, we are so excited to welcome some out of towners! For those of you who are traveling out of state (or country), here are some of our favorite places to eat, drink, and generally putz around in Richmond.

James River

VA

Taking a walk by the river is the go to thing in RVA. There are so many trail options, including the Buttermilk Trail, the Pipeline, The Pump House, The Potterfield Bridge, the Belle Isle walking bridge, and so many more. Depending on the weather, you might be able to hop in or rent some kayaks to go for a float!

Hollywood Cemetery

412 South Cherry Street, Richmond, VA 23220

It sounds odd to walk through a cemetary, but this historical space is the most beautiful cemetary you will every see. It could also be considered a "river walk" since the views of the James are impeccable from the cliffs. Bring a picnic and enjoy the old growth trees and calming atmosphere.

South of the James Market

4021 Forest Hill Avenue, Richmond, VA 23225

Every Sunday 10am to 1pm just down the road from the party house

RVA BIG Market

Richmond, VA 23227

Every Saturday 8am-12pm on the North side of town.

Carytown

Richmond, VA 23221

Carytown is a strip of boutique shops, galleries, and restaurants. It's an easy spot to park and walk the mile to see a little piece of Richmond charm.

Fat Dragon Chinese Kitchen and Bar

1200 North Arthur Ashe Boulevard, Richmond, VA 23230

This is Austin's pick. He can't get enough of the curried chicken noodles!

Edo's Squid

411 North Harrison Street, Richmond, VA 23220

This is Liza's pick. Hands down the best family style Italian food in town! but get there early or make a reservation- this place fills up fast.

Joe's Inn the Fan

205 North Shields Avenue, Richmond, VA 23220

Joe's Inn is a Richmond staple! The food is classic and the service is always homey. You can cozy up in a booth or hang with the staff at the bar.

The Veil Brewing Co. - Forest Hill

4910 Forest Hill Avenue, Richmond, VA 23225

We love a good beer! Especially when it's close to home. This brewery is the newest addition to Southside Richmond and a hub for families and friends alike.

Legend Brewing Co

321 West 7th Street, Richmond, VA 23224

Legend Brewing is the oldest operating brewery in Richmond VA and is still serving up classic pints and amazing river views from their patio.
