Scotland Wedding Week Itinerary

OVERVIEW We’re so excited to have you join us in Scotland! This page covers the core wedding events and optional group activities. Outside of these, feel free to explore and enjoy Scotland at your own pace. --- LOCATION All wedding events will take place in Edinburgh, Scotland, primarily around the Royal Mile / Old Town. --- 📅 KEY DATES Oct 11–18 Arrival window & free exploration (No scheduled group events) --- Oct 19 — WEDDING DAY Ceremony * Location: Edinburgh City Chambers * Arrival Time: 3:30 PM * Start Time: 3:45 PM Dinner * Walking distance from ceremony * Reservation will be made for the group After * Pub hopping in Old Town --- Oct 20 Free day (recover, explore, casual meetups) --- 🚆 OPTIONAL GROUP TRIP — GLASGOW Oct 21–25 (flexible attendance) Guests are welcome to join us in Glasgow for a few days after the wedding. After this, we'll depart on our honeymoon to the Highlands! --- Highlights: * Glasgow pubs & nightlife * West End & Merchant City * Optional day trip to Loch Lomond --- Heritage Day for the Shamps (guests welcome, exact day TBD) * Loch Lomond * Buchanan Parish Church --- 🎃 HALLOWEEN (OPTIONAL) Some of us will be returning to Edinburgh for Halloween: Oct 31 — Samhuinn Fire Festival * Location: Calton Hill * Ticketed event --- 🧭 TRAVEL NOTES * No group transportation is required * Trains between cities are easy and frequent * Uber/taxis widely available --- 🏨 ACCOMMODATION We recommend staying near: * Royal Mile / Old Town (Edinburgh) * City Centre (Glasgow) --- 📝 FINAL NOTES * This is a low-pressure, flexible trip * Join what you want, skip what you want * We’ll coordinate loosely as we go We’re excited to celebrate with you 🍻

Hotel Guidance for Wedding Week

All of the hotels below are within easy walking distance of our ceremony at Edinburgh City Chambers and located in or just off the Royal Mile. Edinburgh is very walkable, but staying in this area will make everything especially convenient. We recommend booking early, as October is a busy time in the city.
