Austin and Laura first met at Providence College freshman year in 2013. It was a short interaction, just a quick hello among a group of freshmen one weekend. They didn’t see each other again until the following year where the two found themselves in the same environmental studies class. In class, they were assigned to the same group project where Laura, Austin, and two other classmates solved climate change once and for all! A year later Laura would recall that there was “this group project” that consisted of “her, Brian, Dana…and some other random guy.” Don’t worry though, it became a true comeback story. The following year, Laura decided to take her talents to the stage and signed up for voice class. As fate would have it, Austin did as well. Singing in front of a room full of strangers is one thing; singing in front of your crush is a different story. Over time, voice class became the highlight of their week and singing had very little to do with it. They sat together, encouraged each other, made a fool of themselves and laughed a lot. One day, Laura volunteered to sing at the teacher’s request, but with one condition: Austin had to do it with her. Soon after, Austin asked Laura on a date senior year to the movies and they decided on “Don’t Breathe”. Laura loves scary movies and Austin, well... he just really wanted her to say yes, so it was the perfect choice. After making it official shortly after, the two finished up the school year and began the next chapter of their lives—moving in together, starting their careers, traveling, and moving from Boston to Chicago to Cleveland. At the end of it all, they’re so excited for this next big chapter and are happy to have found their perfect duet.
