Question

What can I expect from a Catholic Wedding Mass?

Answer

Our wedding Mass will be about an hour long with all the parts of a regular Sunday Mass plus the Sacrament of Matrimony additions. There will be a program at the ceremony to guide you through participating in the Mass. If you have small children, you’re more than welcome to join us in the main pews, but there is a family room in the back you can use if you prefer. Practicing Catholics are invited to receive Communion, and non-Catholics are invited to walk up with your arms crossed over your chest to receive a blessing at that time. This is the most important part of our big day, and we're so honored to have you there!

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Please come in Formal Attire. It's not required, but if you do want to be "extra," you can wear the wedding colors: sunset hues (red, pink, orange, yellow)!

Are my kids invited? Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Yes, kids are invited! If your invitation envelope said "and family" or "and guest," that means kiddos and a plus one. If you threw out your envelope or are unsure, just text Austin, Keyona, or our parents to ask!

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is lots of free parking at both the church and the hotel for the ceremony and reception! The hotel does not offer transportation to and from the church, so you'll need to drive or carpool. If you choose not to stay at the hotel, you can still park for free there, and there are always easy-to-find Uber and Lyft rides around the Twin Cities!

What should we do between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

There will be some down time from 3-5pm while the wedding party takes photos. The hotel is only a few minutes from the church, so feel free to go back to the hotel and freshen up, grab a drink at the bar, or hang out on the outdoor patio behind the lobby. You could also check out some nearby spots! Go window shopping at antique shops in downtown Hopkins or the Southdale Center mall, grab an iced latte from a local coffee shop, or walk around Centennial Lakes Park.
