Our Story

It all started with a manicure...

Although Austin and Jessie had walked the same hallways and shared mutual friends since 2016, their paths did not truly cross until January of 2023—proof that timing is everything. Their story began with something simple: a manicure. Jessie had heard about a talented nail artist in the Mooresville area and decided to give it a try. Over chipped nails, laughter, and coffee, a friendship formed between Jessie and Kryssie Mozeley. Before long, a plan emerged—Austin needed a prom date, and Jessie was the perfect choice. In January of 2023, Jessie and Austin finally sat down for coffee before school. It wasn’t love at first sight—but it was something deeper. Almost immediately, they recognized pieces of one another that were beautifully complex and impossible to understand on their own. It became clear that getting to know each other would require patience, grace, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. After a month of conversation, the Mozeley's invited Jessie to attend their church for a Valentine’s Day message—an invitation that would quietly change everything. It was there that Jessie found her first church family, and where the Lord gently softened and unfolded her heart. As Austin met with the men of the church and Jessie with the women, God was faithfully preparing them both for the next chapter: Lenoir-Rhyne University. At LR, they found community, friendship, and belonging through a campus ministry called The Gathering House. It was there that Austin’s heart was transformed, and Jessie gave her life to Christ—two stories woven together by faith, love, and God’s perfect design.
