It all started at the beginning of the 7th grade. We built a friendship all throughout middle school. Little did I know he was crushing on me all along. We went through high school making memories as best friends and keeping in touch throughout the first couple of years in college. There was a moment at a Christmas party that he invited me to at WSU where I looked at him and finally realized that we were going to be more than just best friends. We both came home from college for the holidays, still not knowing where to go from being just friends. We were hanging out and he asked me to be his girlfriend. I panicked and told him I was not ready. Four weeks went by and we had an amazing date in Coeur d'Alene Idaho, at a beautiful restaurant on the water. At this point I knew he would never ask again so it was my turn to step up. After the date I looked at him and asked "Will you be my boyfriend". Of course he lit up like a kid in a candy store and replied with "yes, I thought you would never ask". January 9th, 2016 is the day that our friendship became a love story. The next couple of years went by creating many memories and falling even more in love with each other. We both finished our degrees and moved home. My parents planned a trip to Hawai'i to celebrate us hitting such a big milestone. After hoping he would propose on this trip, I really didn't think he was going to. Everyone but me knew what he had planned. We were on the beach taking family pictures when all the sudden I turned around and he was on one knee with the ring of my dreams. This time I was sure I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him so of course I said yes. We spent the rest of the trip celebrating our engagement and feeling like everything was so surreal. We are so excited to begin our new adventure as a married couple!
