Austin and I both grew-up in the beautiful San Geronimo Valley, so we have known of each other since we were kids. We didn’t start hanging out until 2017, when Austin lived with his sister in the same apartment complex as me. It wasn’t until my sisters wedding in Baja where we become more than just friends! Just another reason why we both love Baja so much.
While on a week-long road trip, we visited The Flaming Gorge in Utah. Atop the surrounding mountains, we came across a desolate mountain lake called "Sheep Creek." Upon arrival, we ate lunch and then decided to explore the gorgeous scenery and small lake. We were the only people around for miles. After taking pictures of the beautiful landscape and wildlife, Danielle turned around to Austin on one knee. She was speechless. It wasn't until Austin said his knee was soaked in the wet grass that Danielle said, "Yes, Yes, of course!"
Baja has been a very spacial place for both of us! I have been going down to my family home in Buenavista since I was born. My parents still love to tell me that I was, "hecho en Mexico." Ever since I was a little girl, I have dreamed of getting married on the beach looking over the Sea of Cortez. Austin and some of his closest friends have a passion for off-road racing in Baja. In 2017, Austin and his team were racing in the NORRA 1,000, the same week that my sister was married in the small town of Buenavista. Austin and most of his race team were also invited to her wedding, which was a day after their race finished. My sisters wedding is ironically the event that brought Austin and I together. The hotel where we are getting married is just three miles down the beach from where it all began.
