Our love story began in 2012 as our paths crossed at the Ogden Ski Swap. Little did we know that this initial exchange, where our eyes briefly met in mutual intrigue, would be the beginning of our story forever. It wasn’t until a year later, at a Bonneville High School Basketball game, that we officially met. Thanks to some mutual friends, we sat side by side the entire game and bonded over our shared passion for skiing and decided to hit the slopes of Snowbasin the next day; kickstarting a tradition of weekend adventures. Over the next three months, we spent more time together. Cristi would tackle AP Calc homework (nerd) at Austin's house, while Austin indulged in video games (also nerd). On March 2, 2014, on the eve of Cristi getting her braces off, Austin asked Cristi to be his girlfriend. We finished the ski season as a couple and concluded the spring by dancing our asses off at St. Joseph High School's Junior Prom. After a year of dating, life led us in different directions when Cristi moved to Denver for college. Despite the distance, we maintained our friendship, talking from time to time over the next two years. In 2017, we realized that our hearts couldn't belong to anyone else. We again made it official and embarked on a two-year-long-distance relationship. Fast forward to 2019. Cristi graduated from college, returned to Utah to be closer to Austin, and embraced a career at Traeger, all while sharing our life with Teagan, the sweetest Vizsla. A year and a half later, Luka, the most handsome GSP, joined our family. In December 2022, Austin graduated from college, setting the stage for a momentous event. Then, on February 18, 2023, where our love story had taken its initial turns, Austin asked Cristiana to marry him against the panoramic backdrop of the mountains at Sun Valley Ski Resort (Snowbasin's sister resort). Our path, marked by skiing adventures, academic endeavors, and long-distance devotion, has come full circle. Our love story is forever intertwined with the joy of skiing, and this next chapter marks the beginning of a new adventure as husband and wife. Here, our love will continue to grow, one ski slope at a time.
