August 2011 in and the start of Freshman year was just beginning for Christian and Austin at Jarvis Hall at East Carolina University. On the first weekend of school Christian met Austin during lock down for Hurricane Irene. Throughout their time at ECU they remained friends.

It was September 2014, and the ECU Pirates were taking on the UNC Tarheels. After seeing each other at a tailgate earlier that day, Christian and Austin by chance to happened to be watching the game at Pantana Bob's together. As it turns out, Christian's friends and Austin's friends knew each other and they seemed to hit it off immediately. By some miracle Austin still liked Christian enough to continue hanging out with him and eventually even go on a date with him a few weeks later at Sup Dogs.

After dating for 5 years of dating, moving to Pensacola and eventually settling down in Wilmington, North Carolina. Christian knew Austin was the one. So one cold afternoon in December, Christian took Austin to Wrightsville Beach to see the Dolphin Migration (the only way he could get Austin on the beach). Where he got down on one knee under the South End Pier.
