Bethany worked for Oregon Fire and Rescue in Oregon, WI, where she was assigned to work racetrack events. Every Friday night, she’d find herself on shift at the Madison racetrack. Little did Bethany know, she wasn’t just witnessing wins, memories, and dreams coming true for racecar drivers—but maybe, just maybe, her own dream was taking shape too. Between events at the La Crosse and Madison racetracks, Bethany kept noticing a guy named Austin—always around, always on the move. Too shy to say anything herself, she asked her dad to put in a “good word” for her. Unfortunately, the timing wasn’t ideal—it was the week before Oktoberfest Race Weekend, the busiest time of year. Bethany figured Austin would forget all about her. But he didn’t. After fest week/weekend, Austin kept his word and invited Bethany to a race in Rockford, IL. Of course, it was under the guise of “helping out,” but Bethany decided to go all-in—booking a last-minute hair and makeup appointment and making the 3-hour drive to meet up with this guy who’d caught her eye. That trip changed everything. After Rockford, Bethany and Austin started spending more time together, and on November 12th, 2020, they officially became a couple. From moving in together to raising a puppy and managing a racetrack, the two quickly became inseparable. Bethany waited patiently for the next chapter. Deep down, she knew that one day Austin would ask. And on December 20th, 2024—with the help of their beloved dog Brutus—Austin finally did.
