In February of 2023, Audrey posted a picture of her roommate’s dog, and Austin slid up on the photo. The two started talking, and Austin gave Audrey his number, hoping she’d text him. At first, Audrey ghosted him—but she couldn’t stop talking about him to her nursing school friends. After some convincing, Audrey finally reached out and sent Austin a text one day during class. He answered immediately. They spent the next couple of months talking back and forth. During finals week, Austin sent Audrey a sweet text—along with some money for coffee to get her through the week. Audrey sent the money back and told him instead to take her out for coffee when she came home from school. Once Audrey was back home, they hung out almost every day. On her very first night home, Audrey was originally hanging out with Taylor, Austin’s sister, when Austin texted and asked if they could pick him up. The two went to get him, and Austin ended up sitting in the garage talking with them for a while. The next day, Austin was going out with Koby and invited Audrey to join. Audrey brought along her friends Ashley and Kenzie, and the group spent the day together. That summer, Austin officially asked Audrey to be his girlfriend. When summer ended, Audrey returned to Missouri for nursing school while Austin stayed home working as a State Trooper. Despite the distance, they made it work with countless FaceTime calls and many trips back and forth to see each other. After Audrey graduated nursing school, she moved back home, and they once again spent almost every day together. By the end of the summer, they bought a house and moved in together, starting the next chapter of their lives. Soon after, they welcomed their German Shepherd, Ryder, into their home.
