You can walk or ride through the agave fields on horseback. Smaller craft distilleries: Like Tequila Orendain, La Cofradía, or Los Abuelos Charming Town Center Tequila’s downtown is super walkable and full of character: Colorful streets with colonial architecture A central plaza with local food vendors and live music Tons of souvenir shops with everything from tequila bottles to agave-themed crafts

The Landmark
We went there after deciding on our wedding venue. We recommend La Madalena — it's a great restaurant. Mochomos is also a good option, and if you're looking for something more casual, try Shake Shack. Lake Chapala
Lake Chapala is Mexico’s largest freshwater lake and a favorite getaway from Guadalajara — super scenic, relaxed, and full of charm. 📍 Distance from Guadalajara About 50–60 km (30–37 miles) southeast of Guadalajara Driving time: Around 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic Super easy day trip by car or tour (or even Uber!)
Estadio Akron Chivas Soccer
Liga MX soccer league will be running. There are 2 teams based out of Guadalajara. Chivas is the largest team and Atlas both play games here. The season runs through February so, it is likely there will be games that coincide with the trip . Please give yourself lots of time traveling to the stadium on game days because traffic can be busy. Estadio Akron will also be host to World Cup games later on it 2026.
