Amanda and Austin met at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma where they were both attending veterinary school. Austin had his eye on Amanda since day one, but Amanda was hesitant to start anything serious with someone in her class. After several months of patience (on Austin's part), Amanda finally decided to give him a chance. They started ~officially~ dating in the beginning of second year of school, moved in together during their third year, and then moved to Fort Worth, Texas together after graduating in 2020 to start their careers as small animal veterinarians.

Amanda and Austin were spending their vacation in Bethany Beach, Delaware with her family. Little did Amanda know that Austin had been preparing for months to coordinate the perfect proposal. After getting dinner with Amanda's sister, brother-in-law, and best friend, they all decided to take a walk on the beach at sunset. Austin got down on one knee while walking behind Amanda, but she kept walking and didn't realize what was happening! In a panicked tone, Allyssa (Amanda's sister) yelled "look, dolphins!" in an attempt to get Amanda to turn around. Once she did, she couldn't stop smiling as she closed the 10 yard gap between them. One of the "sight-seers" watching the sunset was a hired photographer to capture the beautiful moment! As they were celebrating later that night, Austin let Amanda know that he had arranged an engagement session with the photographer at sunrise the next morning. After their morning session, they arrived back at the Vaile beach house where their closest family and friends were waiting for a surprise engagement party! The engagement celebration continued through the rest of the weekend at the beach! We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you! See y'all in Texas!
