Our story would not be what it is, without our friends, Allison and Daniel McKay. Alex was working in ARC and had asked Allison if her husband had any "cute friends" at his work. Unbeknownst to her, Austin had asked Daniel the same thing around the same time! They were showed pictures of one another and were both interested right away. Alex gave permission for them to give Austin her number and for four days, she waited, not hearing from him. At this point, she got impatient and asked Allison for his number making the first move. She texted him beginning the foundation of their relationship. They texted at all hours of the day for the next few days and their connection was immediate. It was as if they had known each other forever. They had initially planned to meet in-person on a group date but Alex didn't want to wait another week, so she asked Austin to dinner. They met at Sovereign on March 8, 2023 for dinner and the connection was even better in person; their first date lasted for 6 hours! From then on, they formed a strong relationship rooted in love, respect, and laughter. They balance one another and their partnership is their greatest strength. Alex, a notorious yapper, and Austin, the strong and quiet type, support each other in every avenue that life has taken them. From traveling to each others apartments, spending Austin's weekends off together every week, to moving in together with their dog Banks, their love has grown. On March 8, 2025, Austin proposed along the Naperville Riverwalk and on April 19, 2025, they got married at the Will County Courthouse. Austin and Alex cannot wait to celebrate their marriage with all of the family and friends on their one year anniversary. Their love has blossomed and strengthened, mainly through a mutual love of Vine quotes, Rumple Minze shots, and rotting on the couch together.
