How We Met

09/2016

Alexa: I first remember meeting Austin at my college group's Back to School Night. The only association I had of him at that point was, Austin = Silly! He had long hair, and these happy brown eyes. It never crossed my mind that I would date him, let alone marry him 3 years later! We got to know each other more by being in our church internship and working together at Apple. The more I got to know Him, the more I wanted to be around him. And just like that, he swept me off my feet! Austin: I remember our first meeting for our church internship. We had gone around the room and everybody had to say what they enjoy doing for fun. I clearly remember Alexa saying that she likes driving around, on random roads for fun. I thought to myself, she's someone I'd like to get to know. Thankfully, I did not have to try too hard on my own once she started working at Apple. I got to know her well the months ahead and how much I enjoyed spending time with her. Not too long after, she became my best friend.

Our First Date

07/19/2017

Austin picked me up and we headed to Ballston Spa, NY, where we stopped off to grab some lunch. Our waiter seated us and before we ordered, Austin said he had something in his car he needed to get. I sat there waiting for quite an unusual time before Austin came back with a big mopey face. I ask him what was wrong... He had locked his car keys in his trunk! I thought it was more funny than anything. We got on the phone with a locksmith and not too long after we finished our meal, someone came to save us. After, while sitting in his car, we talked for a bit before he pulled out a letter that he wrote months before we started dating. Patient for this moment and before he let me read it, he asked me if I would be his girlfriend. He called the letter, "The First One." I read it, as my cheeks got rosy read, and a huge smile grew on my face. I was so excited to say "Yes!" We then headed to a National Park to go on a walking trail...we didn't get very far. We finished the evening off in Saratoga, NY, where we went to this lovely Spanish bistro, had some amazing food and enjoyed the first day being a couple! Quite an eventful day as it was, it was a great preview to what the rest of our relationship has looked like and we would not have it any other way!

When I said "YES!"

12/20/2018

We got engaged on a rainy winter night. Austin really wanted to walk around the city park to see the light show. And though I had just gotten over being sick, I was up for the adventure, not knowing the exciting night ahead of me. We got to a point in the park where there was a bridge, with a barricade that had a sign that said "Closed Until March." I, hesitantly walked up to it, just to see that Austin had climbed over without getting hurt. We started walking across when he stopped me in the middle of the bridge to read a poem. At that moment, I knew it. Austin read his poem and my heart started swelling up inside of me! At the end, he got down on one knee, and spoke a few words, "With that said, I have one question to ask...Alexa, will you marry me?" ...And the rest is history! We CANNOT wait to celebrate with you all at our Wedding! See ya soon!
