We first met in January of 2018 in Greenville. For our first date we went to a comedy show downtown. Neither of us had ever seen the comedian before so we weren’t quite sure what kind of show we were in for but thankfully, the comedian was hilarious and kept us laughing the entire time. All of the jokes and laughter helped calm both of our nerves and we decided to continue our date after the show so we headed to nearby bar to grab a couple of drinks. The night continued to be full of laughter and easy conversation. We both had such a great time and knew there would be more dates to come. Our dates after consisted of eating at our favorite restaurants downtown, playing games at Dave & Buster’s, and going to more comedy shows. We quickly realized how much we enjoyed spending time together and officially started dating in March of 2018. We then spent time getting to know each other’s friends and families. We were both nervous about getting the stamp of approval since we attended rival colleges. Luckily, our charming personalities and good looks won them over. We continued to grow closer together as a couple and it wasn’t long before we became best friends. We began planning trips and traveled to some amazing places together. Our trip to Italy in July of 2019 was by far our favorite. With each day that passed during these two and a half years, our love for one another grew stronger. We knew that what we had was special and couldn’t imagine being with anyone else.

We spent the hot summer day hanging out at our neighborhood pool. Austin told me that he had made dinner reservations for us that evening and that we were going to be meeting up with a few of his friends for drinks downtown beforehand. As we were leaving that afternoon, Austin turned the opposite way of downtown and I immediately became suspicious. He drove to the lake in our neighborhood and told me we were going to take a quick walk since it was nice outside. We were walking holding hands and as we got close to the gazebo, Austin stopped. He then got down on one knee and asked if I would would marry him. Of course I said yes to spending the rest of our lives together. There was even a photographer hiding in the woods to capture this special moment for us. We were both so happy and could not stop smiling. We headed back to our house after and I had no idea there would be another surprise. I opened the door to go inside and was greeted by some of our closest friends cheering and ready to celebrate with us. It was such a special day for the both of us and is definitely a day we will never forget. We are so excited for our future together and can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you all!
