Summer of 2017: Austin is in Dallas visiting from his then home in North Carolina. He was hanging out with some of his closest friends at Top Golf when his good friend Betie Fletcher (Geremew at the time) introduced him to the “idea” of Abbey. He was single at the time and was curious if Betie “had any cute single sorority friends from Baylor.” Luckily, she did not. “However…” she said, “I do have a friend from work who is beautiful, smart, funny, and a lawyer! Y’all would be perfect together!” Austin appreciated the recommendation and noted that if he were to ever move back to Dallas, he would inquire her number and send her a “Hey” text. Fall of 2018: Austin moves back to Dallas. He’s with his friends again and remembering what Betie had said a year ago, he asks her if her lawyer friend is still single. She is, so he gets her number and texts her that night. October 5th 2018: Austin and Abbey meet for the first time for after work drinks at HG Supply Co. on Lower Greenville in Dallas. They immediately hit it off, 1 drink turned to 2, 2 hours turned to 3… the chemistry was palpable, and both would later admit that they both felt something very real and incredibly strong. October 19th 2018: Dallas Stars vs Minnesota Wild. Austin & Abbey’s first official date (and kiss!) The Stars lost a mess of a game at the American Airlines Center, or as we local Dallasites call it, the "Double AC”. However there was another "Double AC” being forged (get it?) as Austin and Abbey hardly even noticed there was a hockey game. They were falling in love, and their paths were beginning to align. December 19th 2020: Abbey and Austin had been together for over two years at this point. A new puppy, new jobs, and a crazy world. Austin semi-kidnaps Abbey and drives her to Dinosaur Valley in Glen Rose, TX where he unveils a ring and asks her the easiest question he's ever had to ask. "Will you marry me?" Without hesitation she says yes, and the rest, as they say, is history!
