We initially met through our mothers since they worked together at a nursing home. We had been around each other a few times while helping out with events at the nursing home, but never really acknowledged one another. Not until one day after an event, my (kate) mom told me she thought I should talk to Austin because he seems like a great guy. She thought we’d enjoy each others company, and she was right! We started talking on September 8, 2019. We eventually went on our first date later that month (after many invites from him) at Young’s Dairy. One thing led to another, and were both excited to tell our friends that we each had our very first boyfriend/girlfriend on October 19, 2019! It didn’t take long for us to realize that we were going to be married someday. And then, as expected, he proposed a little over a year and a half later on June 22, 2021! Our engagement story begins with us taking a four-day trip to Hocking Hills near the end of June 2021. The second to last day there, we went ziplining together and Austin started to have secret conversations with our tour guide. After we were done ziplining our tour guide told us that he had this really beautiful waterfall on the property that he wanted to show us. So we hiked up the side of a large hill to reveal a beautiful view of all the hilltops out in the distance - but no waterfall? After admiring the view for a minute, I (kate) turned back to Austin to ask about the waterfall, but he was down on one knee. My answer was “of course”, because we couldn’t possibly imagine spending the rest of our lives with anybody other than our one and only. We’ve been anticipating our wedding for a little over a year now, and we can’t wait to have you all there to celebrate with us!
