The couple give their deepest thanks to Dani's long time friend and Austin's at-the-time roommate for introducing the two to each other. WE LOVE YOU, BESTIE!! The first time Austin met Dani was the SECOND time Dani met Austin... He just forgot :) Worry not, dearest readers, for Dani retorted his unnecessarily repetitive introduction with an unforgettable scolding- and minor guilt trip, for good measure. Clearly, that was the right move as it is still an ongoing joke between the happy couple.

Out in Victoria, British Columbia for our anniversary trip, we were approaching our last activity in a completely full schedule. Days prior, Austin had told Dani that he booked a surprise photographer to "commemorate our first trip abroad," and "have nice photos to print and frame!" To which Dani, while looking Austin dead in the face, asks, "Like an engagement photoshoot?" Austin, knowing he had JUST packed the ring in his suitcase, responds - "Nope! But I've got to make sure to remember that for when I do!" She totally bought it... and even seemed a little angry? Now, we head to our photoshoot, along a warm rocky beach during sunset. Austin gets the cue from the photographer: "this lighting is perfect!" --and he was down on one knee, crying before he had said a single word. Dani had already suffered through Austin's pretend-proposals twice in the gift shop before this. So it took a few seconds for her to realize this was, in fact, the REAL DEAL. If you're reading this, it's because she said yes! We are so excited to make more memories with the ones we love and cannot wait to see you in Seattle!
