Travel

You can absolutely find great Airbnb options on the island, but just a quick heads-up: Oahu has strict short-term rental laws that can sometimes make residential rentals tricky with minimum-stay rules or sudden policy changes. For peace of mind, we recommend looking at traditional hotels first. If you want to keep costs down, Waikiki is definitely the most budget-friendly area to look for hotels, just keep in mind you'll want to plan for a longer drive up to the North Shore for the wedding!

Flight

Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL)

We highly recommend tracking prices early on Google Flights or Hopper to secure the best rates! Here is a general benchmark of what to expect based on where you are flying from: For our East Coast guests (e.g., EWR/NYC): Round-trip economy tickets typically average around $1,000, especially for nonstop options. However, if you are flexible with a quick West Coast layover, it is very common to find deals in the $600 to $750 range (and occasionally lower if an airline runs a flash sale!). For our West Coast guests (e.g., LAX/SFO/SEA): You have a much shorter journey! Direct flights are easier to find and usually run between $300 and $450 round-trip. If you book well in advance or catch a seasonal sale, you can frequently snag these flights for under $250.

Hotel

Marriott Vacation Club, Waikiki

2080 Kalākaua Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96815

For guests looking for a comfortable and modern stay, Marriott Vacation Club is a great option. We stayed here ourselves and were pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. The property is relatively new, with spacious accommodations that include everything from standard guest rooms to larger suites—some of which feature convenient kitchenettes. Rates can be quite reasonable compared to some of the larger resorts in the area, making it a great value for the quality and amenities offered. As a fun side note, we attended a vacation ownership presentation during our stay and earned a complimentary night, though participation is completely optional!

Hotel

Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort

2005 Kālia Road, Honolulu, HI 96815

For guests who want a full resort experience, Hilton Hawaiian Village is one of the largest and most popular resorts in Waikiki. With multiple hotel towers, several pools, restaurants, shops, and activities all on-site, there’s plenty to keep you entertained without ever leaving the property. Because it's such a large resort, accommodations can vary—some areas have been recently renovated, while others feel a bit more classic. If you're looking to be in the heart of the energy and excitement of Waikiki, this is a great choice.

Hotel

Prince Waikiki

100 Holomoana Street, Honolulu, HI 96815

For guests looking for a quieter and more relaxed stay, Prince Waikiki is a wonderful mid-range option. We stayed here ourselves and really enjoyed it. While it doesn't have the sprawling resort atmosphere of some of the larger Waikiki properties, the hotel is clean, modern, and peaceful. Its location is especially convenient—situated between Waikiki and Ala Moana Center and Beach, making it easy to explore both areas. The pool is smaller and more low-key, but the overall experience feels less crowded and more comfortable. For those planning to rent a car, parking is typically easier and more affordable than at many of the larger Waikiki resorts.

Hotel

Luana Waikiki Hotel & Suites

2045 Kalākaua Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96815

For guests seeking a budget-friendly option in a convenient location, Luana Waikiki offers excellent value. Located near Waikiki Beach Walk, you'll be within easy walking distance of restaurants, shopping, and many of Waikiki's attractions. One feature guests particularly appreciate is the availability of rooms with kitchenettes, making it easy to prepare simple meals and snacks during your stay. It's a smaller, more relaxed property that can be a great fit for travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and affordability.

Hotel

Paradise Bay Resort

47-039 Lihikai Drive, Kaneohe, HI 96744

For guests looking to experience the side of Oʻahu that we call home, this is a wonderful option. Located in Kāneʻohe, it offers a more local and laid-back atmosphere than the larger Waikiki resorts. The property feels less like a traditional hotel and more like a home base for exploring the island, with easy access to nearby restaurants, shops, and beautiful Windward Coast scenery. It's a great choice for anyone who prefers a quieter stay and wants to experience a different side of Oʻahu.

For those looking for a luxury experience, this is the closest resort to our venue. It’s a beautiful, high-end property that offers everything from standard rooms and suites to private villas and bungalows. Since our wedding is in April, you’ll be beating the summer rush—which means you might be able to find some great seasonal rates before the peak travel season begins!

This is a wonderful, highly practical option located right on the North Shore. It’s a solid mid-range hotel that is perfect for families and guests who want a comfortable, reliable place to stay close to the venue without the luxury resort price tag.

Hotel

If you aren't a big hotel person and prefer a more casual, laid-back vibe, these bungalows are a fantastic oceanfront option. Located right on the North Shore, they offer a classic Hawaii experience perfect for groups or families who want to step right onto the sand and stay close to our venue.
