Spencer and Aurora were acquaintances in high school with Spencer being a grade ahead of Aurora. While they both did band and theater they rarely knew each other much less talked. Fast forward to the summer of 2021 during the MSSU band camp and Spencer and Aurora met again. After a few months they soon became friends and after a few lunch dates Spencer and Aurora officially began to date in October of 2021.

What started out as a Christmas gift from Aurora’s parents turned into a beautiful moment between two people who love each other. Spencer and Aurora had gone to Springfield, Missouri to watch the traveling Broadway production of Hamilton at the Missouri State campus. What started as a trip to the roof top bar and lounge of their hotel, turned into a photo opportunity, which then became a proposal. When anyone asks Aurora about the proposal she’ll say it was the most amazing moment and she was overly surprised, she’ll also tell you how Spencer dropped the ring during the proposal… twice! Spencer had gone to Auroras Grandpa’s home with her father where he was given one of her late grandma’s rings for her engagement ring. While there, he also received Aurora’s wedding band that she will receive on their wedding day. The rings will stay in the family which makes them that much more special.
