Aurora and Jake first met in what might be considered one of the cheesiest locations. They met at church when Jake sat directly in front of Aurora. After the service, Nathanael, Aurora's rambunctious cousin introduced the pair. He soon ran off leaving the two in slightly awkward silence. Jake then bravely asked Aurora if she would like to meet the rest of his friend group, of which Aurora graciously accepted. From there, their relationship slowly but surely blossomed. After that Sunday, Aurora and Jake began spending a lot of time together talking about their common interests. It was obvious to onlookers that there was something between them, however the two still wanted to be patient and see where things went. What truly started moving things forward was when Jake asked Aurora to be his plus-one to a close friend's wedding party. Aurora excitedly agreed to go with him. The bond between them grew tremendously from then until the wedding. Friends were even asking if the two were together. After a night of excitement and fun, the two headed home and shared one of their favorite meals: Burrito Bowls from Qdoba and watched one of Jake's favorite movies: A Knight's Tale. After eating they hung out and talked. Aurora then plucked up the courage to ask Jake to be her boyfriend. So began their relationship of Excitement, laughter, happiness and most importantly, love.
While on vacation near Traverse City, Aurora and Jake had already decided to get up early to watch the sunrise. It was also on a particularly special day: their 3rd year dating anniversary! Watching the sunrise has become a tradition of theirs so why wouldn't they honor that tradition?? It was freezing that early in the morning, a bitter 55 degrees! The tranquil river glittered with the beginnings of sunshine. Then, a sudden statement, "I have something to tell you" broke the silence. A sweet speech filled with love and tears was spoken into the quiet woods, and a Pokemon ball ring box showed its face! A beautiful gem, presented by a kneeling, weeping, snotty, mess of a man, was placed onto the receiving hand after a burst of laughter, a "yes" and some more tears. Then came the group hug where "the boy" would now have "the girl" We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Pure Blue, Pure Michigan!
