August on Mackinac Island features warm, pleasant weather, with average daily highs in the low-mid 70s F and cool evenings in the mid-50s F. It is one of the warmest months, perfect for outdoor activities, with moderate rainfall and refreshing lake breezes. Pack light layers, including a jacket for cool nights.

While it is preferred for our guests to stay on the island, there are also several hotels available on the mainland within a short distance from the ferry. Be prepared to leave the reception between 9:00-9:30 p.m. The last Ferry returns to the mainland around 10:00 p.m.

No. Since we will not be having a formal wedding party, we consider each and every one of you to be the wedding party! We will be having a meet-and-greet at Yankee Rebel Tavern on Mackinaw Island, Friday evening. This will provide an opportunity for many of our far-reaching friends and family to get acquainted.
