We’re (finally) Getting Married!

We met a few days after Christmas in Las Vegas through our mutual friend Jacqui at Einstein's Bagels. It felt like we had already been friends for a long time. A few days later, we all celebrated New Year's Eve together and danced the night away (the chemistry was obvious!). After a couple weeks of swerving Cam's requests to take me out, I (Aurora) went to a spoken word event he was performing at, and he charmed his way into my birthday plans afterward. I finally agreed to go out with him that week, so we went on two dates just before I flew back to NYC for my last semester of college with a tearful goodbye. After unexpectedly talking on the phone for hours every night, the rest was history!

Our slice of sunshine in a dark year! Cam had an elaborate proposal (involving lots of travel & people) planned for June 2020 before the pandemic hit, but the world shutting down caused a little change of plans. While we were in Sedona on road trip with our friend Jacqui, we pulled to the side of the road to "take a picture" in front of a mountain lookout, and I (Aurora) smiled for the camera as Cam got on one knee! I was completely shocked, and said YES! It was the most intimate, beautifully impromptu, brave proposal we didn't even know we needed. Since then, we have continued to see how much better God’s plan and timing are than our own, and after lots of growth, healing, cross-country moves, a postponed wedding date, and much more, we are sooo excited to finally take this next step into marriage and celebrate it with you!
