Things To Do

Charlevoix holds a special place in our hearts and has been the location behind some of our most cherished memories throughout our relationship. We hope you find fun things to do throughout your weekend getaway, based on our recommendations below.

Charlevoix Golf Club

700-790 Petoskey Avenue, Charlevoix, MI 49720

Our favorite course to golf! This is Charlevoix's municipal course that is affordable, walkable, and a laid back golf scene.

Charlevoix Country Club

9600 Club House Drive, Charlevoix, MI 49720

This is the golf course that Shanahan's Barn is surrounded by.

Lake Michigan

14505 Park Avenue, Charlevoix, MI 49720

Our favorite beach in all of Michigan. There are multiple beach access points along Park Avenue, including the main entrance to the beach and lighthouse.

Ferry Beach Park

224 Ferry Avenue, Charlevoix, MI 49720

Lake Charlevoix's beautiful beach access. For a smaller shoreline, volleyball, and calmer waters, definitely check out Ferry.

Depot Beach Park

Charlevoix, MI 49720

This beach is typically quieter than the others on the south side of the bridge and is a great historic sight of Charlevoix.

Mount McSauba

09223 McSauba Road, MI 49720

If you're looking to hike/run/bike trails, walk dunes out to Lake Michigan, maybe even wanting to disc golf, Mt. McSauba is a perfect scenic place to explore on the north side of the bridge.

Fisherman's Island State Park

16480 Bells Bay Road, Charlevoix, MI 49720

The state park has a lovely beach access and trails that are definitely worth checking out.

LO Bar/HI Bar at The Earl

120 Michigan Avenue, Charlevoix, MI 49720

One of our favorite places for drinks in town! Beautiful rooftop-lookout of Round Lake, the Pine River, and the lighthouse.

Vue Wine Bar

101 Bridge Street, Charlevoix, MI 49720

The best place in town for wine! Beautiful view of the Pine River leading into Lake Michigan from the outdoor patio seating.

The Back Lot Charlevoix

230 Ferry Avenue, Charlevoix, MI 49720

If you're looking for a drink or food stop with lots of options, definitely check out this place. There's a ton of food trucks to chose from, set up in a parking lot, and a bar with local brews, right by Ferry Beach (Lake Charlevoix).

Bier’s Inwood Brewery

17959 Ferry Road, Charlevoix, MI 49720

Our absolute favorite place to go in Charlevoix. Incredible pizza, wine, ciders, and craft beers. Great outdoor seating, cornhole, and a nature trail too!

Lost Cellars

04434 US Hwy 31 South, Charlevoix, MI 49720

A newer, small winery, just south of town with a cozy feel and relaxed scene.

Blu Dot Farm & Vineyard

11399 Boyne City Road, Charlevoix, MI 49720

An absolutely adorable stop we recommend exploring. Great views and great tasting wine.

Gypsy Distillery

5251 Charlevoix Avenue, Petoskey, MI 49770

If you're staying on the north-end of town or in Petoskey, this is a neat new distillery that was once an equestrian center. There are lots of amazing cocktails to try and a unique space with fun games and food.

Harwood Gold Store & Cafe

230 Bridge Street, Charlevoix, MI 49720

Delaney's favorite coffee and shop in town. Highly recommend grabbing a coffee and shopping through downtown at some point.

Andy's Party Store

205 West Garfield Avenue, Charlevoix, MI 49720

Caleb's favorite place for lunch. The best sandwich in town and perfect to order and take out before heading to the beach!

For all the days along the way
