Main Street is the heart of town with many great places to eat and wonderful shopping. The San Benito house has tasty sandwiches with signature bread. Right next store is The Cantina, formerly known as the original San Benito House, has wonderful margaritas, lovely picnic grounds and delicious street tacos. for something a little more formal on main street, It's Italia is delicious! Visit the local shops many with local artisans.
Our wedding venue is here at the habor. This is Half Moon Bay's fishing community. Walk along the pier and meet the fisherman with their fresh catches of the day. The Ketch Joanne's is one of our favorite places, for fresh caught fish, the freshest salads and old fashion good drinks. The street runs from Hwy 1 to the infamous big waves at Mavericks with many eateries, several breweries and a vodka distillery at the Jetty Wave.
This is without a doubt a must do even if you walk or ride your bike just a short distance or for miles. The bluffs, beaches and coastal vegetation is why we keep coming back to HMB aside from visiting Aunie's parents. Sophia loves riding the trail with anyone who will take her.
HMB beaches are not like Southern California. The water is typically 54 degrees so going in is a shock! our beaches have rip currents and are beautiful but dangerous! NEVER turn your back on the ocean. With that said there are several for you to visit... Whale Cove (nude beach no longer... well maybe a few still enjoy) Mavericks - North of the harbor Miramar Beach Roosevelt Beach Dunes Beach Francis Beach - also none as Kelly beach Poplar Beach Beach @ Ritz Carlton - where we took our engagement photos. Martins Beach Pomponio State Beach - further south in Pescadero
Want to take a hike, HMB has that too. Devil's Slide is a short walk with amazing views Want to work up a sweat...? Quarry Park at the back of El Granada Montara Mountain Purisma Creek Trail Rancho Corral de Tierra
