That day with Ben at my first Vikings game is a memory I’ll always hold onto. I had won tickets through Mystic Lake, and at first, I wasn’t sure who I should bring with me to the game, but in the end it felt like an easy and natural choice to share the experience with my brother. We were sitting in a really good section, watching the game together, and as if the day couldn’t get any better we ended up winning a signed mini helmet and $300 in free casino play which made the experience even better. It was one of those days that reminded me how grateful I am for my brother and how the best memories come from being together.

Okay here it is: How do I know Ben? Pfft. Apart from playing hockey at the illustrious Winona State with Big Ben, I was also fortunate enough to be one of his 3 other lovers (4 if you include Auna) or roommates as some may call it. From late night practices, infinite Kwik trip stops, occasional “ochen suchi” runs, and now beer league games, I’ve gotten to enjoy many moments with him. It’s an honor to be a part of his special day and help him down the aisle to say I do!

Ben and I met my freshman year of college when I asked Declan, our hockey captain and future roommate, for a ride to practice. Instead, this tall redhead jumped in and offered to drive me. That one ride turned into years of late-night car conversations, heated debates (mostly about weightlifting and wagu beef), and an unhealthy number of cafeteria runs. Before I knew it, we were roommates for the next three and a half years. What started as a simple ride to practice eight years ago turned into a lifelong friendship, and now I get the honor of standing next to him on his wedding day.

“First time meeting benny I was invited to his house to hang out on a Saturday. This was freshman year so before we could drive and my parents were gone. I hopped on my bike thinking it would be a quick 40 min to get over there. Half way through it started down pouring. I had never been to his house and I couldn’t use my phone for directions because it was so wet. Took me an hour in a half, soaking wet, legs burning, but finally made it. Benny laughed, gave me some clean clothes and the rest is history. Congrats and cheers to the happy couple.”
